Aubree's First Smile!
Aubree is doing AWESOME!!! We are so thankful. Today has been the best yet, she is now up to 60cc of milk (catching on to the eating) and I got to bathe her! I know she is doing so much better because she screamed during the entire time of the bath! The nurses told me that was the first time she had been that mad. While all her blood counts are coming down and the fact that she is eating so good, we found out today that there is a HUGE possibility that we will be coming home on Saturday. She has to be eating 65cc to be released(which I see no problem with that one) and be completely off the antibiotics and the blood count to stay normal for 24 hours---then we will be set to go. Steve and I also have to take a CPR class, and we will probably do that tomorrow (Friday). I am so ready, while our stay at the Ronald McDonald house has been a good one, Muleshoe sure is looking good. For those of you that do not know, our home is getting remodeled, we are getting a new kitchen and bath, therefore we cannot go home until that is finished. They started on the remodel on Monday--and we're hoping for a 2 week completion date--but for now our address will be my mom and dads house in Muleshoe. It will be so nice not having to go back and forth all day long to see her, and just getting to hold her when ever we want will be wonderful.
Steve has been here up until yesterday, he had to go home and take care of some things and finalize a job that he had started, so my mother came and spent yesterday with me and Aubree. We had so much fun! She really had all the time she wanted to see and hold her.
My dad and Dal got to come again also. My dad (Poppa) has been stricken!!! He didn't want to come out of the nursery---he is hooked and thinks this poppa stuff is gonna be ok.
Steve had returned last night then went back to Farwell this morning. He is running his legs off! I had some friends come and take me back and forth to the hospital, thankfully it isn't very far from the Ronald McDonald home, but since I can't drive yet, and the scheduling of the van that the home supplies doesn't fit in with Aubree's feedings, I have been so thankful to have someone take me and pick me up.
Again, thanks so much for all you have done! We know Aubree is truly a blessing and without your prayers--she wouldn't be doing as well as she is. God is good!

More Pictures to share
Couldn't believe we got such a great picture with her eyes open! And she got to put clothes on! Our first night at the Ronald McDonald house was good--
Aubree's blood count continues to go down--so we are very HAPPY!
As soon as we get the final test results I will get them posted--and still no word on how long we will be here.
Thanks again for all the prayers.

More Good News!
I was released tonight and we thankfully did get a room at the Ronald McDonald house. It is super nice and will be so convenient to be so close by to the hospital. They are still thinking that we will be here for at least a week. We are not expecting any of the culture results for another couple of days. After those results come back we will see just how much longer it will be before getting to go home.
Keep in close touch--I will be posting lots more pictures tomorrow and giving the Tuesday update!
Thanks again for your prayers!

October 5, 2007--7:57 p.m.--7 lbs 14 oz--20"long
Steve and I are so happy to see our little miracle finally arrive. She is so beautiful!
I went into labor early Friday morning and got to the hospital about 5:30 a.m. I had an extremely long day---the doctor finally decided to take Aubree by c-section at 7:30 p.m. Everything seemed great and we were so thankful for such a healthy little girl. Later into the night, nurses realized that Aubree was not breathing quiet right, they admitted her into NICU to put her on a ventilator. She stayed on the ventilator for about 18 hours, but with such close watch on her, they found that Aubree has an infection of some sort.
At 11:00 p.m. last night, October 6, Aubree had to have a spinal tap. The spinal fluid looked good to the doctor, but final results will not be back for 2 days. Please Please be praying for her!! If she does not have spinal meningitis, her hospital stay will be for only 8-10 days, of she does, we are looking at 30 days. Steve and I are planning to stay at the local Ronald McDonald housing right near the hospital. I possibly will be released tomorrow (Monday) or should for sure on Tuesday.
We wanted you to know that the blog will be updated as soon as we know any updates. Please leave comments--we want to hear from each and everyone of you.
We appreciate your love and support, but most of all we are so thankful for all your PRAYERS!!
